Rode to the top of Galena Summit overlooking the Sawtooth Mountains this past week. Another beautiful, challenging ride.
I also ran 5.5 miles to the top of the local ski mountain in Sun Valley as a storm blew in. Then yesterday I entered a 16.5 mile trail-run through the local Idaho wilderness. Along with several cool hikes and the chance to wade through the Big Wood River every day looking for trout, I have felt so grateful to even be able to be so active.
Somewhere along the road, I figured out that really one of the best parts of getting in shape to do Ironman Canada next month is being able to physically enjoy some of the best parts of this world whenever I have the opportunity. I realize that not every one can and it seems to me like taking care of my body is simply being a good steward who gets to enjoy even more of God's good gifts.
I don't do this to do Ironman, I do Ironman to do this.
