This is the best series on The ONE Campaign. In fact, I was going to write my own response to Bono's challenge at the National Prayer Breakfast (of which I am most genuinely enthusiastic), but my friend Mark's series is a thoughtful tour de force that makes me realize that anything else I'd add is superfluous.
Meanwhile, today at SCPC we had a child sponsorship drive with World Vision, for our Y-Malawi project. Last year, a group of us traveled to Malawi and I wrote about it extensively on this blog. Today, 285 children in Nkhoma, Malawi have more hope than they did yesterday. We are are ordering up 100 more pictures and bios and will be continuing our sponsorship drive for the next two weeks with the goal of sponsoring 400 children. My family is sponsoring two, a 6 year old boy named Chimpeni and a 7 year old girl named Nabengo. Want to join us? Write to Chandra at [email protected] and tell her that you heard about this on my blog and want to sponsor a child in our project. She'll let you know what you need to do.
Next Post, the "D" in the ABC's of a true church.
