GodBlogCon, a convention about Blogging and the Christian Faith to be held at Biola University will soon be upon us (Oct 13-15). The lineup of seminars and sessions looks outstanding and will certainly generate some good discussion amongst the bloggers who attend. But the plenary sessions and the evening discussion moderated by Hugh Hewitt promise to be most interesting indeed. (If nothing else, I get a great seat between Dr. Mark Roberts and Dr. John Mark Reynolds on the panel.) The Friday evening Session with Hugh and the panel is open to the public and tickets are available online or at the door.
Personally, I hope that a number of non-bloggers will attend. We need the input of blog readers probably even more than blog writers to continue to hone this nascent communication craft.
On top of that the good folks organizing the convention have secured a preview screening of the movie, Elizabethtown. I have no idea why or anything else about the movie, but in general, it has a cool soundtrack on the website and is described as "a love letter to the resilience of the life force." (And the dude who played Legolas in Lord of the Rings and Spiderman's girlfriend are in it.)
The convention, doesn't look run of the mill, by any means and I am looking forward to it. If nothing else, I am looking forward to see what some of my "blogging friends" actually look like.
