The devastation from Hurricane Katrina is truly overwhelming. Thousands are feared dead in New Orleans, hundreds in Mississippi and it seems that the worst is still to come. Even understanding such a disaster is difficult for those of us who don't live in hurricane alley.
But, the body of Christ is responding and I simply want to add my voice and prayers the scores of bloggers and fellow Christians who are trying to be of some small service. (For more up to the minute info on what is being done, see here, here and here.)
On the front lines, a fine church, Canal Street Presbyterian, pastored by an old seminary friend, Mike Hogg is working to care for people in the area. Please pray for Mike and his wife Christina and their church.
The Presbyterian Disaster Agency is also offering a number of ways that you can contribute.
I did and hope you will too.
