Hey Tod,

Can you make the next post before Saturday?! I have a group I'm speaking to.....

Adam Copeland

Thanks for the post. I had a mini series on Starfish and the PC(USA) on my blog: http://adamjcopeland.com/2009/03/04/is-the-pcusa-a-starfish-or-spider-part-ii/

I enjoyed the post. I'm more interested in leaders finding them particular way of being a leader than taking on a CEO or chaplain or Champion role. But, then again, I don't think all of us are leaders, but that's another post.

I can't believe it you just described me to the teeee. Cataylast. I am a little in shock. Charismatic I am not sure about though. Mary Poppin's Yes I have some champion in me too. I am a youth leader, visual arts director, equipping team, worship planning team and my interests continue to grow. Thanks Tod I am going to order this book now!

Off topic: but happy earthday!

Thought you might like this story of a Pastor in Brazil, who church has made a minstry/local microbusiness out of recycling oil into soap that was pouting his neighborhood... I thought his view of his work as a parable reflecting his church's work in the world was great...

I appreciated the insight in this post. I just finished a piece that applied the paradigm of decentralized organizations to our approach towards addressing gangs inside of our inner cities. I think you are right on about the reality that leadership is alive and well inside of these organizations and protecting, promoting and preserving the shared values is paramount. I have teamed up with X gang leadership to intentionally build a decentralized effort to compete with gangs in Fresno CA. The organization is fresnostreetsaints.org. They are the catalysts and amazing at that. I am the champion and critical to bridging the disparate worlds found in any good sized city and making the strategy behind the approach compelling and relevant...essential to creating the political will to adopt the ideology. The blessing is that I needed to be reminded today about the reality of these two roles and their shared importance.
