One of my associate pastors is famous around our church for being the "Pastor of Hugs". Danny Meyer, restauranteur and author of Setting the Table, a book about the "transforming power of hospitality" in business, says that every customer should feel as if they had received a warm and friendly hug.
And then of course there is this....
Generosity is not just about our stuff, it's a way of life. And when we appropriately, genuinely and warmly offer ourselves to others, we reveal the warm embrace of God in the world.
The truth be told, I am awkward hugger. But something about all of these people speaks to me about the revolutionary power of giving to others generously.
